Joseph Mallord William Turner was a British Romantic painter celebrated for his luminous landscapes and seascapes. Known as “the painter of light,” Turner’s innovative use of color and atmospheric effects influenced Impressionism and modern art. His dramatic scenes, such as The Fighting Temeraire and Rain, Steam, and Speed, depict nature’s power and beauty with emotive intensity. Turner’s evolving style pushed boundaries, blending realism and abstraction, making him one of Britain’s greatest artists.
