Raphael was an Italian High Renaissance painter and architect celebrated for his clarity of form, balanced composition, and graceful figures. His masterworks, such as The School of Athens and The Sistine Madonna, embody Renaissance ideals of harmony and beauty. Working in Rome and Florence, Raphael refined techniques of perspective and naturalism, influencing generations of artists. As an architect, he contributed to St. Peter’s Basilica’s design. Raphael’s combination of technical skill and poetic expression established him as one of history’s greatest painters.
